What Drives You? What Drives You Nuts? — 2025 Impact & Invitation

What Drives You? What Drives You Nuts? — 2025 Impact & Invitation

This year we’ve asked hundreds of Christian leaders from all over the world two questions:

1. What drives you?
2. What drives you nuts?

This simple gut check measures the gap between your mission and your wellbeing. You might pause to reflect on these questions yourself.

What We Heard

People love to answer the first question. Many people speak with deep passion and conviction. So much so, that I have started keeping a private journal capturing what God is doing through normal people around the world. The Kingdom of God is in such good hands.

That second question is more pesky and gives people pause. They share about unrelenting internal pressure, battling their inner critic, struggling to turn their brain off. But they also talk about relational dynamics: betrayal and pain, the people who take up too much space in their brain, the people who cause too much drama for everyone, yet get away with it.

That is where we come in. We equip leaders with skills to manage all the dynamics that deplete us: triggers, reactivity, stuck relational patterns and more.

We help leaders from the toughest environments in the world work on #2 so #1 can thrive and so they can thrive.

Your Generosity at Work

This year we received $35,000 to help under resourced global leaders be well. We were so excited to be able to offer scholarships and boy, did people take us up on it!

Here’s what we were able to offer together:

What Your Giving Made Possible

  • Trauma therapy with a licensed therapist for missionaries in Jordan, Bulgaria, and Iran
  • Workbooks with videos for inmates in a Texas prison and a church in the Philippines
  • Online enrollment in our private community for workers in Kenya, Jordan, Bulgaria, Namibia, Burkina Faso, Germany, the UK, and the USA
  • Discounted enrollment for several leaders in our new Helping Others community—equipping those who serve others in emotional and mental health
  • A full day of in-person training for a national staff of 75 serving terminally ill children and their families
  • A scheduled 2026 training in Namibia for local church leaders
  • A 5-Day Intensive in Colorado for 6 global leaders who will now launch new cohorts in their countries and train hundreds more over time

Reach & Impact

  • Countries Impacted: Capable Life is now in 41 countries, with specific support this year for leaders in Jordan, Burkina Faso, Namibia, Bulgaria, the Philippines, Kenya, the UK, Germany, Spain, and the USA.
  • People Served: 140 individuals—plus an additional group in Namibia in 2026 (size TBD).

Stories From the Field

Jordan

“The training we receive through Capable Life will help us deal with intercultural contexts in hostile government and religious environments. None of us ever really feels safe, so to learn to deal with anxiety isn’t just a relational issue but even could spell the difference between our staying or going in some places. The impact of your work is hard to quantify but is already extraordinary!”
— C, Global Worker in Jordan

Philippines

“I'm a pastor in the Philippines. We have about 350 members. I have learned that I have been an anxious leader for so long. It has affected me, my family, my church, and all other relationships that I have. I don't want to be like that anymore. I know it is God's will for me to be a less-anxious leader from now on and for the rest of my life. I'm sixty-five years old but I know that with God nothing is impossible.”
— Dr. B, Pastor in the Philippines

Jordan

“We do community development in a large, poor city in Jordan with a high proportion of Syrians and Palestinians. We run health projects including women's exercise, youth programs and a community clinic. We show the love of Jesus and seek to see hope and transformation in families here, through word and deed. We have about 1000 direct project beneficiaries per year, and about 2200 indirect project beneficiaries (family members).”
— J, Global Worker in Jordan

Thank You

Thank you for your generous donation. We really can’t describe how incredible it is to offer life-changing care to a good leader at the end of her or his rope. All because of your generosity. You are helping people be well. We can’t thank you enough.

We have all seen the damage done when a leader proclaims Christ while they themselves are not well. We have seen countless stories of burnout, yes, but even abuse and scandal, all because a leader did not treat what was bubbling under the surface. Our mission feels more critical than ever - helping key Christian leaders be well so their mission can thrive.
