Mark your calendars—August is bringing back-to-back weeks of Zooms.
August 5 at 4pm MT – Zoom with Steve Cuss
Steve (our fearless founder and resident Systems Theory nerd) is early in his doctoral studies and wants to share what he’s learning about how people change—and how leaders can actually help that happen. He’ll talk about detangling faith from coping mechanisms (ouch, right?) and give us a peek into his working thesis. Bring your curiosity and your questions—Steve loves a good Q&A.
August 11 at 10am MT – Zoom with Jimmy CarnesJimmy is our go-to coach for helping leaders get unstuck. He brings 12+ years of church leadership, a love for Systems Theory, and just enough Enneagram to be helpful (not annoying). He’ll help you name what’s getting in your way and give you tools to find more peace, clarity, and freedom in your leadership and life.
Both Zooms are for Access Pass holders only, so if you haven’t joined yet…👉 [Join the Waitlist]

The Expectation Gap is on sale this week only!
Amazon is running a sale on Steve’s latest book, The Expectation Gap: The Tiny Vast Space Between Our Beliefs and Experience of God from April 20 - 28th and it will be available at its lowest price ever for that week. If you are already a fan of the book, would you take time to share this with someone who might benefit?
If you’d like to do a church wide campaign on this book, you can access a sermon series and guide here.
If you’re not familiar with this book, Steve takes a fresh look at the dynamics that block our enjoyment of and engagement with God. He gives practical tools to align your belief with your experience. You can learn more at the amazon link.
New Foundations Cohort beginning in May!
The April Foundation’s Cohort filled up, so we decided to offer another one in May! To accommodate all of our Pass holders in different time zones, we moved the time up.
If you’ve ever wondered how a cohort can impact your journey to freedom and peace in Christ, this is a great way to find out!
Cohorts are designed to be a place where you can learn and discuss alongside your peers as you are led by one of our amazing coaches. May's cohort is led by Matthew Hoskinson and focuses on our Foundations course. During the course of the cohort, you'll watch brief 10-20 minute videos on your own and join four weekly Zooms to process your learning together. The Zoom meetings will be held on Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:30am, MDT, from May 1st through May 22nd. Through this cohort, you'll learn that managing anxiety is less about “trying harder” and more about slowing down and deepening awareness of:
How anxiety shows up in your mind and body
Understanding different types of anxiety and their impact
Noticing recurring patterns in yourself
Broadening your connection with God and others while narrowing the grip of anxiety
If you've ever wanted to dig deeper into Capable Life and our tools or an opportunity to learn and discuss these tools with others, this is a great place to start!
As an Access Pass Holder, this benefit is included! You can reserve your seat today for no extra cost. If you are an Access Pass holder, register here. Otherwise, you can join Capable Life here then come back to this page to register.
We also have a workbook that aligns with this Foundations course. In it, you will find fill-in-the-blank notes for each video, thought-provoking questions, helpful charts, and suggested brave practices to spur on your journey to peace and freedom. It’s an incredible resource to keep everything you learn in one place so you can come back to it again and again with ease. The workbook is not essential to participate, but it is helpful! If you’d like to check it out, click here.Capable Life is truly best experienced with others. When we can learn from experienced coaches and process new information with our peers, growth and change can be exponential.
Calm, Aware, Present Journals back in the shop in a limited supply!
During our transition to a new warehouse last month, our previous facility found a long lost box of Calm, Aware, Present Journals! After dusting them off, we placed all 33 in the Capable Life shop.** We have had many requests for the journals recently, so if you would like to get your hands on one, they are back in our shop until they sell out. Click here to order today and begin your 12 week journey of learning tools that will help you notice, name, and diffuse anxiety.
**For those concerned that there is actual dust on these journals, rest assured that they are in mint condition and dust-free!
